Google’s John Mueller hinted a couple years ago that Google may decide to translate knowledge panels and/or featured snippets in other languages when applicable. I have not seen this happen until today when Gianluca Fiorelli shared this happening to him.
Gianluca posted this screen shot on Twitter of Google giving him a knowledge panel pulled from Wikipedia and offering him to see the translated version. Here is that screen shot (click to enlarge):
Gianluca said “I did a search in http://Google.it and Google presented me a “Knowledge Panel” with the excerpt taken from the English Wikipedia but translated in Italian, and offering me the option to see the original.”
This seems new to me…
